10CN532 - PARMA HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS ICRIS PHOTOGRAPHIC DOCUMENTATION PACKAGE ICRIS DETAILS Smithsonian number: 10CN532 IHSI number: 27-14541 Historic/current resource name: Parma High School Address of record: 1105 East McConnell Avenue, Parma, Canyon County, Idaho Field number: 88-D-373 Original construction date recorded in ICRIS: 1957 Original and current use: Education / school campus Current ICRIS eligibility status reviewed: Unevaluated Associated survey: Architectural Survey of City of Parma, 1988, Jim Koehler Photographer: Jeffery Holley Current photographs: March 29, 2026 PACKAGE PURPOSE AND SCOPE This package contains 40 selected current-condition photographs and supporting documentation for ICRIS resource 10CN532. The documented area is the Parma School District block east of North 8th Street. It includes academic, administrative, circulation, and athletic components treated as parts or associated resources of 10CN532 for this survey update. No contributing-status or eligibility determination is made by this package. Named components documented in the selected photographs include Parma High School, the Bruce Mitchell Science and Technology Center, Panther Library, Parma Middle School, Julian Laca Gymnasium, Parma School District Office, AG/VO building, agricultural greenhouse, Jessie Eddie Tennis Courts, the athletic entrance, Bob Sloan Baseball facilities, football stadium, concession stand, athletic-grounds storage trailer, circulation routes, and open grounds. The concession stand receives expanded coverage because its distinctive form, current deterioration, and potential vulnerability warrant a clear present-condition record. “At risk” is used as a project concern rather than as a formal National Register classification. PHOTO-SELECTION METHOD Visible architectural and spatial evidence governed assignment and selection. Folder names, GPS, EXIF headings, timestamps, and the project map served as supporting evidence and did not override the photographs. Selection favored principal elevations, entrances, oblique views, side and rear elevations, connections, construction materials, character-defining features, alterations, associated resources, present condition, and views explaining campus organization. Near duplicates, blurred images, weak compositions, and images adding no distinct documentation value were excluded. The number of photographs reflects the size and complexity of the campus (National Park Service, Consolidated and Updated Photograph Policy, 2024). FILENAME AND DIRECTION CONVENTION Files follow this format: 10CN532_[SEQUENCE]_[COMPONENT OR SUBJECT]_Looking_[CAMERA DIRECTION].jpg Example: 10CN532_01_Parma_High_School_Principal_Entrance_Looking_S.jpg The direction in the filename states the direction faced by the camera. The caption separately identifies the photographed elevation or elevations. A camera direction was not mechanically reversed to assign an elevation when an oblique or complex junction required interpretation. Filenames use leading zeros, underscores, and no punctuation that could impede transfer or sorting. The National Historic Preservation Act does not prescribe a universal photograph filename. This convention supports ICRIS while providing the logical organization requested in current NPS guidance. PHOTO SEQUENCE AND ICRIS UPLOAD The intended display order begins at the Parma High School principal entrance, moves through the academic and administrative buildings, then enters and circulates through the athletic grounds. The sequence ends with the concession stand and storage trailer. ICRIS displays the most recently uploaded photograph first. Upload the files in reverse numerical order: Photograph 40 first and Photograph 01 last. After upload, confirm that Photograph 01 appears first and the set displays in ascending order. The reverse upload order is an ICRIS workflow step, not an NPS requirement. PHOTO LOG AND KEY MAP The CSV is the controlling photo log and filename crosswalk. Its sequence numbers correspond to the filenames and numbered camera stations on the photo-key map. It records final and original filenames, camera direction, elevation or side depicted, view type, caption, documentation value, photographer, date, location data, dimensions, and reverse upload order. Camera stations on the photo-key map are approximate placements on a schematic project base. EXIF/GPS data and headings aided placement but vary in accuracy; the key, visible architectural and spatial evidence, and the intended documentation sequence governed the final map. The map is a photo-location aid, not a survey-grade site plan. ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS The source photographs in Dropbox remain unchanged. The images in this package are renamed copies. No original was deleted, renamed, overwritten, cropped, retouched, or otherwise altered. INTERPRETIVE LIMITS The package documents exterior conditions visible from accessible locations. Interior spaces were not documented. Some construction dates, architects, builders, and alteration dates remain unconfirmed. Component names follow the project building key, visible signs, existing ICRIS records, and current field evidence. The package does not constitute a National Register nomination, eligibility finding, contributing-status determination, or finding of effect under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
